Pepito C. Rivera, M.D.
This is a special day with many beautiful memories to reflect on and enjoy. As we look forward to the future of our alma mater, we also look back, recalling exceptional times we have shared and the goals to which we have aspired. Now is not a time to become stagnant, but a time to grow and achieve even higher goals. We must continue to pledge our unconditional support and loyalty to our alma mater and express our gratitude to those who have worked to diligently to make it all possible.
I would like to begin my tenure as President by expressing how honored to be elected to serve on the Board. It will be my pleasure to facilitate the growth of FEU-DNRSM Alumni foundation, especially the BAL FEU and the Medical Missions. I pledge to continue to innovative trends that my predecessors began and to support efforts on improving education and patient care.
My main priority is to being the most current medical knowledge and state of the art technology to our membership and to being the very best physicians, scholars, and the students in our ranks. This will improve the education of our medical student and residents as they complete their respective specialties and will eventually raise the quality of patient care.
Secondly, I would like to maintain and encourage the positive communication among the Board, of Alumni Association membership, the Dean of the Medical school, the Philippine Foundation and the Administration. Great things can be accomplished when communication lines are open and available. We currently support twenty one medical scholars. We must maintain our relations and communication with these students and recognize their achievements. I envision our topnotchers reclaiming the majority of the fist few positions in the Medical Board exams and would also ask that we consider increasing the number of medical scholars we support if financially possible.
Lastly, I would like to encourage increased alumni membership participation in every annual reunion and scientific convention. We must come together as an organization and renew our unity. These times of togetherness allow us to put aside our individual differences, renew friendships, enjoy camaraderie, and become a solidified, driving force for the Foundation. I welcome Jane Legaspi, M.D. as Editor –in Chief of the Ectopic Murmurs, a publication that helps keep all our members informed and involved. I also welcome CME Chairman, Cesar Reyes, M.D., and Executive Vice President, Hernani Tansuche, M.D. who will also serve as Executive Director. |
